Married Life So Far

Saturday, November 29, 2014

It's been months since our wedding and I still feel kinda weird calling him my husband haha. I am really happy though, strangely a lot happier than before even though things are pretty much the same. Initially I didn't feel a difference at all when friends asked me how I was feeling now that I'm married, but as time went by I realised our relationship was in fact a lot better than before. We still go through occasional fights and stuff, but I guess we're both a lot more forgiving now :)

I asked D recently whether he felt any different after getting married, and he told me it was more fun?! LOL. We've been enjoying each other's company at home more as compared to maybe last year? It's definitely not the passionate and intense kind of love we had when we first started going out, now it feels more like a very comfortable kind of love where we silently care a lot more about each other. Maybe we were much younger then and a lot more selfish in the past; we used to fight till death over petty little disagreements. I guess it's really important in a relationship to find common ground and at the same time learn to accept that your spouse is created differently from you.

Thanksgiving just passed and looking back on my life I'm really thankful to have met and married D. Hopefully our relationship will continue to grow stronger in time and not end up badly!

  2. Congrats to both of you... May the happiness that you have discovered stay with you always!

People who look to marriage to make them happy make a fundamental mistake. It is your own happiness that you bring into your marriage that makes it so deliciously wonderful.

While the world does their best to mold you into a cookie cutter version of everyone else, a great spouse is there to encourage you to simply be your best self: kind, loving, authentic, and perfectly imperfect.

The secret for my marriage is my wife and I believing in each other and encouraging each other that: “Every woman deserves a man who loves and respects her. And every man deserves a woman who appreciates his efforts.”

    Keep loving each other,
    Andrew
