Mother's Day 2016

Wednesday, May 11, 2016

Wow it's my second Mother's Day as a mummy already hehe, time really flies by so quickly once you have a child. Reading back on my first Mother's Day post (here) made me realise i should REALLY start blogging more frequently again haha. Completely forgot about having Mother's Day dinner with D at the airport before he left for Korea last year!

Anyway, Mother's Day this year was quite different from previous years (other than the fact that I'm a mom haha). Usually we'll just have a simple dinner with D's family - most likely at our favourite crab place Melban! But this year we also had a fancy dinner with D's mom side of the extended family at Imperial Treasure :D After months of food aversions and constant throwing up, the food was heavenly to me!!

I think Kayla really enjoyed the food too because this is the first big gathering where she didn't cry, and happily sat through a 2hr dinner with no problems yay

And on the actual day, we went back to Melban for some yummy crabs with D's family for dinner as usual :) I literally forgot to take any picture when we got there haiiii. Luckily I managed to get a few pictures with Kayla just before we left the house hehe

This is the exact same swing I grew up with! Sometimes I can't believe it's still in great condition after soooo many years heh. It was silver in colour before, and a few years ago my granddad and I decided to paint it dark brown to match the railings then :) Watching Kayla play around with the swing is a surreal feeling.. like wow this is the next generation..

And this time next year, there will be 2 mini me s running around during Mother's Day!

  1. Motherhood is a tough 24 hour job,no pay,no day off, sometimes it is unappreciated, but yet resignation is impossible. A mother is a woman who created by the Almighty Father to bring love, joy, happiness and caring into his world. I am so glad our Creator has created a woman to be a mother, even though motherhood is a full time job, a mother's work is never done. Happy Mother's Day.

Your ears always listened the voice of my heart
You always realized and gave me your shoulder to weep and to laugh
Caught me by hands when I was falling
Oh!mother you are great next to Almighty
but for me you are always in the deep corner of my heart.

  5. A thought to all the beloved mothers from their dearest child:

    Mother...
You filled our days with rainbow lights,
Fairy tales and sweet dream nights,
A kiss to wipe away our tears,
    Gingerbread to ease our fears.
You gave the gift of life to us
And then in love, you set us free.
We thank you for your tender care,
For deep warm hugs and being there.
We hope that when you think of us
    A part of you
    You'll always see.

  6. Your mother is always with you...
She's the whisper of the leaves
as you walk down the street.

    She's the smell of bleach
    in your freshly laundered socks.
She's the cool hand on your brow
    when you're not well.

Your mother lives inside your laughter.
She's crystallized in every tear drop.
She's the place you came from,
    your first home...
    She's the map you follow
with every step that you take.

    She's your first love
    and your first heart break...
and nothing on earth can separate you.
    Not time, Not space...
    Not even death...
    will ever separate you
    from your mother...
You carry her inside of you...

  7. To A mother who never grows old and
our creator Father has made her smile out of sunshine
And He molded her heart out of gold
In her eyes He placed bright shining stars
In her cheek, roses, you see....
    HE made a wonderful mother
And He gave that dear mother to us..

  8. Nice to read your blog "Kayla Bee's mama" in this Mother's Day 2016...

I did have some words for my mom here...

If I knew as a child what I know now, Mom, I probably wouldn't have made things so hard for you.
I would have understood that you were looking out for my best interest.
even though it may not have seemed so at the time. I would have known how difficult it is to let go,
to stand back and let someone you love learn from their mistakes.

I would have realized how fortunate I was to have a mother who was always there for me,even after an argument, even after I'd said things I shouldn't have.

While it's too late for a lot of things, it's not too late for me to tell you that I appreciate how loving you are, how giving you've always been and that even though I may not always be good at showing it, I love you very much.

    HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!

  14. Youth fades, love droops the leaves of friendship fall. A mother’s secret love outlives them all. Have a great day, Kayla bee mama!

  15. Being a mother is not about what you gave up to have a child. but what you have gained from having one. Being a full time mother is one of the highest salaried jobs since the payment is pure love.

  16. I remember my mother’s prayers and they have always followed me. They have clung to me all my life. It is very true that God could not be everywhere, and therefore he made mothers. Happy mothers day to all the loving mom.
