Flipping at 14 Weeks
This week has been pretty exciting for us because Kayla can finally hold her head up high during tummy time and flip back and forth!
She actually did the "final milestone" first haha, started flipping from back to front (really slowly) about 2 weeks ago.. And then the head lifting happened a few days ago along with the flipping from front to back ♥︎ Felt so proud of her!! Below is a video of her first front to back flip :D
Awesome!

She is doing it so well- tummy time!
ReplyDeleteTummy time is like strength training for babies. It helps them build their neck, abs, back, and shoulder muscles, which are key for rolling, sitting, and crawling.
Proud of you, little Kayla!

Hi, Kayla was doing excellent for her moving forwards to the musical toy ahead of her!
ReplyDeleteOne way to make tummy time feel less like work is to make a small bolster by rolling up a thin towel or blanket and place this under baby's chest. Position baby's arms over the roll with his hands reaching out in front of the roll. If baby's chin drops, it should still be positioned slightly in front of the roll, and so that his mouth and nose still get plenty of air!
Hope this will help her overcome the obstacle of crawling easier!

I started my baby tummy time the next day she was born by my doctor! later on I recognized that the American Academy of Pediatrics formally recommends that parents provide babies with supervised playtime on the stomach as early as possible to promote growth and development and prevent flat spots from forming on the head! I highly recommend parents encourage their babies by creating much FUNS during their tummy Time!
ReplyDeleteSurely, baby Kayla was having fun during her tummy time! Good flip too!!
