Yay we survived the first year of marriage! I've heard a lot of people saying that the first year of marriage can be the hardest for newly weds, but for us it was strangely easier than the time we were dating? I guess it was also because I got pregnant just before the wedding so our first year was mainly him "giving in to the pregnant woman", and then us being obsessed with Kayla. We do still have a few big fights here and there, but at the end of the day we know that no matter what happens we are still family.
Our anniversary was actually last month, so this is a pretty late post heh. We had a quick dinner at Breadstreet Kitchen, followed by a short walk around MBS, and then went home to continue with work lol. I did feel special though cos D had flowers sent to the house (if not I will get angry haha), and he was willing to help me take #OOTDs around MBS :D
Us 3 years ago at MBS for D's birthday ♥︎
To be honest, I haven't exactly been the best spouse and have been taking him for granted for some time now. Am recently realising what a great husband I have and am feeling more appreciative of the little things he does for me. One thing I've learnt from my marriage is that comparison really kills. Whether it is comparing how much your spouse has done vs how much you've done or comparing someone else's spouse to yours, it will never end well. At the end of the day you will just be comparing somebody else's highest point to your spouse's lowest point and end up hurting their feelings or build up a lot of resentment if you think you've done a lot more for the relationship than your spouse. Everybody loves in different ways and it's important to accept that :)
So anyway, at this moment I'm just thankful that we are still able to laugh at each other's lame jokes and be a team both at work and at home ♥︎
Congratulation <3

The earlier you realized your spouse is the best match you can get in this life time, the more satisfaction and happiness you can grasp and enjoy it throughout the days of your life.

P.S. 1Jn 4:18 There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear, because fear holds punishment, and he who fears has not been made perfect in love.
1Jn 4:19 We love Him because He first loved us.
You are a sweet couple....Congratulation

The secret of a happy marriage is finding the right person.
ReplyDeleteYou know they're right if you love to be with them all the time.
Congratulation.

Chains do not hold a marriage together. It is threads, hundreds of tiny threads, which sew people together through the years. Your baby Kayla is the strongest thread between you!

We are not the same persons this year as last; nor are those we love.
ReplyDeleteIt is a happy chance if we, changing, continue to love a changed person.
Happy Marriage to both of you from year to years!

Marriage is a coming together for better or for worse, hopefully enduring, and intimate to the degree of being sacred. Stay your course and be happy.

A wedding anniversary is the celebration of love, trust, partnership, tolerance and tenacity. The order varies for any given year. May you continously celebrating your many wedding anniversaries to come with greater appreciation of each other! Congrats.
